Chelmsford Garden Community Council (CGCC) is a new Parish Council which was formed on 1st April 2023.  It was created from areas formerly within the Parishes of Little Waltham, Springfield, Boreham and Broomfield.

It was created to offer effective governance to a fast developing area north east of Chelmsford which is being further expanded with four new villages, offering a balance of new homes, businesses, leisure & community facilities, schools, and a railway station.

The area comprises the existing area of Old Beaulieu plus the ongoing developments of Channels and New Beaulieu.  In addition, the new Chelmsford Garden Community development is planned adding four new villages, offering a balance of new homes, businesses, leisure & community facilities and schools.

The Council now consists of 13 Councillors across four wards and is strongly committed to the ethos of community. Indeed in its first strategy statement the number one aim and aspiration of the Council is stated as follows:

For Chelmsford Garden Community Council to be central to a thriving community where people wish to live as part of a connected and sustainable area with the needs and wellbeing of residents central to its decision making.
